Welcome to the 3rd edition of my Newsletter. Wow, how has that happened!!!
5 years on.....
5 years ago on the 4th June 2019, I had a mastectomy. Four weeks prior I had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was told I needed to have a treatment. Mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
So on my mum's birthday (which was very weird as she had also had breast cancer in her forties) I went in to surgery. What followed was 6 months of grueling chemotherapy, then exhausting radiotherapy. I thought my body was going to give up. Yet, I found a strength inside me that didn't let me and I am grateful everyday because it meant that I am here today. The cards in the photos were from my wonderful friends. And they really helped me to be positive and strong during such a tough time. I am a big believer that you don't know what is inside you until you are pushed to find it. For me it was breast cancer, for you....it will be something else.
What has pushed you to be stronger?

So, what have I been up to in June?
In the same month that 105 year-old, Virginia Hislop graduated with a masters diploma in education from Stanford University, which was 83 years after she had to leave early.
And Ronaldo, a 6-foot Brazilian rainbow boa constrictor, gave birth to 14 babies in Portsmouth, despite no contact with another snake (by parthenogenesis -asexual reproduction).
I have been very busy.
June started for me with me with the end of half term spending quality time with my family. Then back to it w/c 3rd June with round the table networking at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd
Events I attended this month, included
The Start up Club run by West Cheshire Chamber of Commerce. A wonderful session on social media expertly delivered by Malgosia Nowicka of TMC strategic Communications.
A visit to Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service HQ where I learned that 80% of businesses don't open up again after a disaster - scary thought
Knutsford Business Exhibition, run by Leon Broster from Cheshire Business Exhibitions which was my first business expo where I exhibited and ran a workshop. It was a great day, and I got some great feedback from Jason Riley of Supportis
Thank you Jason.
I delivered an introduction to Insights Discovery™️ workshop to new starters at University of Manchester Innovation Factory in preparation for the all company workshop in September.
And Tom Selby of Selby Rural and I had a one to one session to discuss all things stress and resilience through the lens of the Insights Discovery™️ colour energies.
Busy...busy
Oh and I also started on my accounts with my lovely accountant Alan Parry-Jones
Top Tip
My top tip for this month is short and sweet:
There is no traffic jam on the extra mile!!
Whatever you are doing, make it count.
Go the extra - there wont be as many people doing that and you will stand out to your customers.
Why not tailor your approach to the different behavioural styles of your customers? So that each customer feels like you personally know them.
This is what one of my clients does following our work together and it has increased her repeat business by up to 15%.
