Manifest Using Science

Welcome to the 2nd edition of my Newsletter, first of all let me start by saying thank you for your patience, as I know it is a little bit late. Hopefully you will understand why this is when you have finished reading and you will forgive me 😊

My First Expo

I am so excited to tell you that I am going to be exhibiting at the Cheshire Business Exhibitions, Knutsford Expo on 26th June. This is my first time exhibiting and I have been so busy preparing for it. I have been thinking about what I need to take with me, the size of the space I will have, whether I need any branded merchandise, and how do I make the most of the opportunity. I am also running a workshop around Insights Discovery and the 4 colour energies so lots of ideas running around in my head about how to make it fun, interactive and memorable.

So, what have I been up to in May?

May is the transition from spring to summer, it is the time of year when flowers begin to bloom and crops begin to sprout.

May started for me with me signing up to be a sponsor for Sue Richard's 2k challenge. I have committed to walk 2k a day outside in the month of May and June to raise money for the the Hospice of the Good Shepherd so far collectively we have raised over £1065 - did you know it costs over 15k per day to run the Hospice, so our 1k is a mere drop in the ocean but as the saying goes, every little helps and If you would like to help us raise more, here the link for the just giving page. Sue Richards is fundraising for Hospice of the Good Shepherd (justgiving.com)

On the subject of walking outside, I experienced an outdoor coaching session with the lovely Ellie Lloyd-Jones from Elevate with Ellie. It was great fun to walk through the woods talking through my challenges and finding representations in nature to see things from a different perspective. I was shattered afterwards - but in a good way.

Events I attended, included

The start up Club run by West Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and the speaker on that day was Paul Verinder from E2E integration

Women In Business Networking run by Rosie Diver

I did a poll on Linked In about stress in the workplace and 78% said 'Toxic Workplace Cultures' was the biggest cause of stress....do you agree?

I have a new client - University of Manchester Innovation Factory - I am working with them to embed Insights Discovery in to their culture to improve performance and create a great place to work.

And I was asked to be a speaker for the February Liverpool Ladies Network by Lindsey Moore

Busy...busy

Oh and I also sneaked in a cheeky 2 night stay in Liverpool for my friends birthday - Bongos Bingo - wow! now that was an experience (I am definitely not putting any links in to photos from that weekend 😂)

Top Tip

My top tip for this month comes from Mel Robbin's podcast 'Here's exactly what to do' specifically the edition 'Manifest Using Science'.

I am on a journey of personal growth, I love my crystals and affirmations and the idea of manifesting what we want in life. However....

Mel talks about the fact that we are doing 'manifesting' all wrong and that rather than just focussing on the end result that we want i.e  'the dream', we also need to be focussing on the steps that are going to get us there.

Think about your ideal life, dream with the lid off as Mel says, visualise it, feel it create the desire for it. Does it feel far away? I know mine does and if the thought of how you are going to get there is far too overwhelming for you, then I am afraid that is where it is going to stay.... a pipe dream.

However, lets break it down, what is the 1st step you need to take? Can you achieve that today? No, break that 1st step down in to smaller steps, what does that look like now? Still not sure how to achieve that step, break it down again, and again and again until that first step is so itty bitty you can literally achieve it today.

Then celebrate, really congratulate yourself for taking that first step, no matter how small it is...you took the 1st step. Amazing.

Now still too big start planning the next step in the same way and each time you feel that the step is too big, break it down until you know it is achievable.

It doesn't have to be just your big dreams that you use this system for.... I used it to write this newsletter.

With it only being my second newsletter, I felt a little overwhelmed about what to write, what did people want to read? So I put it off and put it off and put it off......hence the lateness which I apologise for profusely.

After listening to Mel on an early morning walk, I decided I knew how to take action and I asked myself, what is the 1st step to writing the newsletter....

Is it the title, the content? but for me, that was still too big, but then I realised my first itty bitty step was just to clone the previous newsletter and save it as a draft.......simples! Done straight away.

It was then there to be edited, added to etc.

My next step, I realised was to write down everything that I had done in the month of May....again simples! (I wonder if there is a copywriting thing about using the Merecat's words🤐)

I then put it all in the newsletter - so I just typed it out word for word.....then the magic happened, the creative juices started to flow and what seemed like a mountain with no path to follow became a very clear staircase to the top.

What do you need to achieve or want to start doing? Think about the 1st step and what you need to do to make it happen, what do you need to do step by step and if those steps seem too big - break them down until they are achievable in the moment.

I hope you have enjoyed my two pennies worth

You will notice I have links to some posts scattered through the newsletter but if you would like to see any others click here

I would love to hear your thoughts and if you would like to share them then just reply to this e-mail.

Take care out there and have a great day

Philippa
