Welcome to the 6th edition of my Newsletter.
This month the focus is on that feeling we get when we don't feel prepared for something that is imminent. When you get to the bottom, you will find my top tips on what to do if you find yourself in that space.

The Unpreparedness (yes that is a word!) Saga
Wow, how fast is this year flying by???
September has whizzed by for me, it only seems like yesterday I was getting my little boy (Jack) ready to start Yr 3 and now we are half-way through the 1st term. Where has the time gone?
Talking about getting ready for school makes me think about how I was always told in my corporate life that I was organised and well prepared, and how that does not extend to my personal life at all!
I am the person who leaves things till the last minute and hopes it will work out....the birthday gift for a friend, buying an outfit for a night out, packing for a holiday and this year..... buying school uniform for Jack.
That last minute frenzied panic the day before he goes back to school when you realise his school shoes don't fit him anymore and you get to the shops and he doesn't like any of the styles, or the style he does want is not in his size... then trying to persuade him that the shoes that do fit him are the best things since sliced bread and he looks so 'cool' in them so that you can just get them and go home....do you know that feeling?
It may not be kitting your child out for school, but have you ever felt that last minute frenzied panic before ?
How do you get back to reality?
Scroll down to see my top tips for dealing with that feeling unpreparedness including using Insights Discovery to understand your natural tendences and preferences.
So, what have I been up to in September?
In the same month that the World's first whole-eye and face transplant is declared successful for a 47-year-old Arkansas man more than a year after the operation
and the Crew of SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn mission take the first commercial space walk, during a five-day journey through Earth's orbit, farthest in space of any human since NASA’s Apollo program. I have been busy, busy, busy.
Beginning of September saw me straight back to networking with the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce round the table networking at Costco where I had the pleasure of being table captain.
I attended the Women's network event where the guest speaker was Rebecca Meadows from Nexus Earth Ltd - so inspirational.
I was fortunate enough as part of my Hospice of the Good Shepherd 100 Club membership to cruise down the river Dee on the The Lady Diana....for networking purposes!
I have delivered a couple of workshops for one of my clients who get how important it is for people to understand each other's communication styles and want to embed Insights Discovery in to their culture, so I have been making sure all the new starters get their profiles and attend the Introduction to Insights Discovery Workshop.
My Linked In posts included 3 ROI reasons to invest in your teams emotional intelligence and what it is like to work with me
And I had a holiday with the girls to Palma, which was just what I needed after the Summer holidays - those of you with kids will know what I mean 😂
